Frequently asked questions

Answering any and all of your app development questions.

The Basics

As part of our approach to getting mobile app from concept to market, we begin by understanding your idea, target audience and goals before developing features and designing its layout and look. Once our design is approved, development begins on both iOS and Android apps before testing to ensure everything runs smoothly while fixing any bugs we find along the way. Once finished, we assist with launch on App Store/Google Play as well as marketing to reach users and grow downloads before continuing updates, fix issues and enhance it based on user feedback post launch.

Before beginning app development, clearly define your concept what it does, who it serves and key features. Set a budget and timeline. Partner with an expert team like Pixact Technologies; share requirements, sketches, references and any necessary materials with us. Once complete we’ll design the layout, build it out with user feedback in mind and help launch it onto both App Store and Google Play stores for release with ongoing support available from us as needed.

Timely development of mobile applications depends on their complexity, features and platform. A basic app may take 4-8 weeks; medium to complex apps may take more than 3 to 6 months. Pixact Technologies provides a clear timeline after reviewing your requirements for building mobile apps.

Our aim goes far beyond creating visually impressive digital products; instead we seek to provide solutions that truly support business growth. Our focus lies on designing and creating apps, websites, and software that align visually but also strategically with your goals  whether it be launching new products, streamlining operations, reaching new markets or expanding into existing markets every digital experience we design adds real value for you and your organization. Through collaboration, innovation, deep understanding of visions we create platforms which perform, scale with you business as it grows with you your success is our priority your success is what drives us.

Core Technologies & Tools

Tech stacks refer to the set of programming languages, frameworks and tools used to develop software applications and websites. They encompass frontend (what users see) as well as backend server technologies used in developing them. Selecting the correct stack can have major impacts on performance, scalability, development speed and long-term maintenance needs of apps or websites.

Core technologies used in mobile app development include React Native and Flutter for cross-platform apps, Swift for iOS devices, Kotlin or Java for Android phones, as well as Node.js, Firebase and MongoDB as backend tools; Figma or Adobe XD design tools provide user interface (UI/UX).

React Native or Flutter for frontend development, Firebase for backend services and Node.js for the backend are essential tools for developing cross-platform apps that save both time and cost; using one codebase across iOS and Android reduces development times while real-time features and consistent performance can be provided quickly by these tools.

Open-source libraries save developers time, reduce cost, and provide tested, reliable solutions for common features. Instead of building everything from scratch, these libraries help developers speed up development time while focusing on unique features while eliminating bugs from basic functions like navigation, authentication and animations.

Firebase by Google is a mobile and web app development platform offering real-time databases, user authentication, cloud storage, push notifications and analytics for developers to build apps faster without managing servers; perfect for startups and MVPs as its scalability provides essential tools.

The Design Process

User experience design (UXD) is an approach that prioritizes the end-user of your product throughout its development phase. By conducting extensive user research, best design practices, and behavioral psychology principles we develop digital products that are intuitive, usable and beautiful for our users.

At every stage of your product’s development, the design process varies. At its core, though, we use a user-centered design process beginning with brand discovery calls with your team and then progressing through user research, high fidelity design prototyping, and usability testing.

The design phase is integral because it ensures we agree on the look and visual layout of your site. By working together to develop this plan, it ensures nothing gets lost in translation between your vision and needs and our implementation and execution; so it is crucial you take your time in reviewing and understanding. Once approved by you, your project manager and development team will implement both its visual appeal and functional requirements anything outside the plan won’t be constructed!

User research is the foundation of any design process and allows us to gain an in-depth knowledge of our end users. By gathering quantitative and qualitative data using various user research methods, we can then make better design decisions to improve overall user experiences.

Usability testing is an integral component of the design process that allows a prototype of your concept to be evaluated for usability. The goal is to detect any issues early, which will ultimately save costs associated with redesign and redevelopment in the future.

We strive to design your project according to your team’s vision. While we may provide recommendations based on best principles and advocate on behalf of end users, you have final say over all design decisions.

Figma, as defined by them, is a collaborative interface design tool. We will use it to develop the visual aesthetic of your project here; and you will have access to this same space where we design each page, feature, and functionality as we add it into its overall appearance. With Figma you have total transparency into our design process as you’re able to see exactly what will appear once construction begins – any missing or unusual items should be brought forward immediately as this will only make things run more efficiently!

Your content might need a tweak. It is vitally important that any design accepted in Figma will accommodate for the information that populates your website, if ever uncertain just reach out and discuss with our team; we are more than happy to guide you and ensure you will be completely satisfied with the final result what you see is exactly what you get!

The Development Process

Development is where your project comes to life! To ensure we stay on the same page, we conduct weekly meetings where we review functionalities and design updates, while you get to stay abreast of how the process is progressing. Second, we invite you to carefully evaluate each page and provide feedback on its appearance and functionalities, such as whether they are fully integrated. Thirdly, once all pages have been constructed according to specifications, we begin the testing phase. At the conclusion of this stage, we invite you to test your product to ensure it works and performs as intended. Fourth, launch is set; launch is where we showcase your site/app to the world for its debut; fifthly and finally maintenance allows us to continually upgrade, upgrade and fix it over time.

Once we agree on a final layout, functionality will begin being created behind its visual interface. When we work on your site, our team works tirelessly to make sure your vision looks and works just how you need it – typically consisting of a Project Manager, UX/UI Designers, Software Engineers and QA technicians.

This depends on the scope and agreed level of client support that was agreed upon prior to beginning work, however if you ever need any clarification or have any queries just reach out – your team is here and happy to assist!

Launch & Post-Launch Support

Your website/app will officially be completed when we launch, though in practice it should never truly be complete as development is an ongoing process. We accept feedback for 1 week post launch and will address issues within its scope while providing estimates for updates that fall outside its purview.

Pixact takes full responsibility for any bugs created by our code up to one week post-launch, or due to new installations of plugins, apps, add-ons or updates. Should issues arise after one week or due to new installations then we are happy to repair and address these at an agreed-upon hourly rate or by using hours from your maintenance package where support services come at reduced rates.

Reach out to us right away no matter the time! We can get your website up and running again quickly.

Minor updates and tweaks don’t typically involve our designers; however, for larger changes we have found that involving them for one hour ensures you receive exactly what you envision and that we understand your vision perfectly saving hours in development time in return!

Yes, we provide hosting solutions to our partners’ sites. Depending on the type and amount of traffic to your website, we offer two hosting solutions. Each hosting plan includes your live production site, its backup staging site, as well as one hour of maintenance per month to update plugins regularly.
